So recently I've been attempting to grow out my hair which of course means that I'm constantly tempted to get a haircut! I think that my hair curls the best when it's a little above BSL - at least, that's the longest I've had it while I've been curly, and that's when it looked the best.
The hair on either side of my face has been annoying me the most: it's around chin length and sometimes completely straight. Grr. Then again, those parts might just be damaged.
So here's the question: at what hair length have you guys had the best curl formation? Does trimming your hair ever make it curlier?

I am still trying to figure this one out, lol.
Your last question I can answer. I only found out I even HAD curly hair when I trimmed a bunch of inches, from tailbone to mid-back.
Then a couple of months later I got a couple of more inches cut off. I now have a little past BSL.
I would like to grow it more again, but I don't want to lose the curl either. I am hoping that now that my hair likes the routine more, I will be able to grow it that long again and not have the curl fall out.

Now I'm tempted to get my hair cut . Ok, maybe I'll get the front trimmed a little...just the bits which I think I've fried with a straightener. I love my curly hair, I really do, but I also loved being able to touch it without stuffing it up!

Mine is a little about BSL stretched out and it's been getting curlier every inch it grows. Last time my hair was BSL out I thought I had weird straight hair and didn't treat it like curly hair so it wasn't very curly at all.
My goal is BSL while not stretched out - hoping it continues to be curly to that length.

Mine spirals the longer it gets, but it is thin and fine, so the top gets weighed down and it just isn't pretty. Two weeks ago I had 2 and a half inches cut off. It went from almost shoulder length to about chin length. I don't have as much spiraling, but it is bouncier at the root. It's a trade off for me: better curls or better volume.

Well, I haven't worn my hair REALLY long in a long long time. But my hair was much curlier in high school, when my length was down to the middle of my back.
From what I've seen of my hair recently...it does look like it's curling better as it's getting longer. But I'll have to get back to you on that.

my curls tighten the longer they get.

I think mine likes to be about shoulder length but then again I have not had much longer than that because when it gets longer than that - it looks yucky. So yah, shoulder length. But I also have the pulling out the top thing when it gets longer too so it's a battle.

Well I guess I'll be the oddball here. I recently got my hair cut from a couple inches past my shoulders to about chin-length. I think the shorter length makes me curlier than before. My curls have been looking nice and spirally, especially my bangs, which are about the shortest part. I can even get 2nd day hair, which was mostly just wishful thinking before.
ETA: I consider myself 3A/2C.

It's been so long since I've had longer hair, but I seem to recall that my hair looked it's best at upper-mid back, to my shoulderblades. I'm hoping to grow it to that length again. It's about an inch below my chin now. I've got a LONG way to go!

I'm curlier the shorter I get, I get better bounce and volume too.
